Monterey Festival Information
Whether you love jazz, blues or reggae, a Monterey festival is a great excuse for coming to this beautiful part of the California central coast.
Monterey Jazz Festival
This one has been around since 1958. It takes place around the third week each September at the Monterey Fairgrounds.
It features more than 500 jazz artists who perform on 9 different stages over the three days. On Sunday there is a family day more geared for the kids.

Monterey Bay Blues Festival
The blues festival is held on the Monterey fairgrounds. It's been running annually since 1986. It features legendary blues artists as well as up and coming young blues musicians.
There are three stages with bands playing over three days each June.

Monterey Bay Reggaefest
This music festival is held at the Monterey fairgrounds on Labor Day weekend for 3 days. Reggae artists from around the world come to play. It is family friendly, and there is a play area for kids.
Besides great music, there's multi ethnic cuisine to enjoy, arts and crafts and even a Rastafarian museum.
Limited camping in RV's is available at the site.

Dixieland Monterey
This festival for dixieland jazz lovers is held annually in early March. It started in 1980 and is still going strong, featuring plenty of traditional jazz, big band, ragtime and swing music.
The performances are spread out around various Monterey venues, such as at Portola Plaza, Fisherman's Wharf, the conference center and the Golden State Theater.
